At Dana Beach Resort, we aim to operate responsibly by integrating sustainability principles into our hotel operations, reducing negative environmental and social impacts, respecting Egypt’s cultural heritage, supporting local communities where feasible, and improving our sustainability performance over time.

Dana Beach Resort is committed to managing hotel operations with integrity, responsibility, and care. This includes minimizing environmental impacts, protecting cultural heritage, respecting human rights, supporting employee welfare, engaging with local communities, and maintaining safe, inclusive, and ethical guest service practices. We support this commitment through measurable objectives, action plans, responsible management practices, staff awareness, stakeholder engagement, performance monitoring, corrective actions, and periodic management review.
1. Environmental Responsibility
Dana Beach Resort aims to reduce its environmental footprint through responsible operation and efficient use of resources across guest rooms, kitchens, restaurants, laundry, pools, landscaping, back-of-house areas, and all hotel activities.
We are committed to:
- Efficient use of energy and water across all hotel operations.
- Minimizing waste, reducing single-use plastic, and promoting segregation, reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal.
- Preventing pollution of the surrounding environment, including beaches, marine areas, soil, air, and water resources.
- Ensuring proper handling of solid waste, wastewater, used oil, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
- Using environmentally preferable products where feasible, including eco-friendly cleaning products, biodegradable amenities, recyclable materials, and low-impact alternatives.
- Monitoring energy consumption, water consumption, waste generation, fuel use, and greenhouse gas emissions where applicable.
2. Responsible Purchasing and Supplier Engagement

- Operating in compliance with applicable national and international health, safety, environmental, tourism, and operational requirements relevant to hotel and resort activities.

- Managing key risks including fire, medical emergencies, food safety, water safety, pool safety, chemical incidents, extreme weather, pollution incidents, and security-related risks.
- Testing and reviewing safety measures regularly.

- Developing annual SMART sustainability action plans with measurable Key Performance Indicators.
- Monitoring sustainability performance, including energy, water, waste, emissions, purchasing, training, guest feedback, community actions, and corrective actions.
- Conducting periodic internal reviews and sustainability audits.
- Reviewing this policy and related action plans annually or when significant legal, operational, environmental, or business changes occur.
- Taking corrective actions where performance gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities are identified.
11. Communication and Transparency
Dana Beach Resort is committed to transparent communication of its sustainability commitments and performance.
We are committed to:
- Communicating this policy to employees, suppliers, contractors, guests, and relevant stakeholders.
- Making this policy available in English and Arabic.
- Displaying or sharing the policy through appropriate communication channels, including staff notice boards, guest information areas, internal communication, and the hotel website.
- Making sustainability information and performance updates available through the hotel’s Sustainability Report at the end of each year.
- Engaging staff, suppliers, contractors, guests, and business partners in sustainability awareness and improvement activities.
